My Favorite Steeping Room Dish, the Buddha Bowl

There is something to be said for the atmosphere of a restaurant. Our environment can elevate our dining experience to another plane on a level not reachable with food alone. That's why I am so fond of the Steeping Room at the Domain. Even though the food is amazing on its own, the intimate nature of the restaurant's interior is why my partner and I continue to go back for special occasions.

Whether you're there for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, or dessert, their varied menu can surely accommodate you. As the sun sets, the tea light candles come out, their flames reflecting like twinkling lights on dishes and teapots.

But the thing that makes the Steeping Room my favorite place for a date is being able to share a pot or two of tea with my beloved. Picking out a different tea each time is something we really enjoy. It gives us something to discuss while we're waiting for food, as well. We like mulling over the flavors, comparing it to ones we've tried before, and making mental notes of what it would go well with next time.

In addition to being a great option for repeated visits, the Steeping Room would be perfect for a first date, too. The menu is vegetarian-, vegan-, and gluten-free-friendly. It has something for everyone despite their dietary restrictions, or lack thereof. We have even made it a Valentine's Day destination before. Figured I should mention that considering the timing of this review :-)

Our favorite dishes are the Buddha Bowl with the baked tofu and peanut sauce (the tofu is crispy on the outside, rich and flavorful, and the peanut sauce is as creamy as all get out) and the TBLT (tempeh bacon, lettuce, tomato) Sandwich. Try these dishes with the Orange Tiger Premium Black Tea. And take home some items from the bakery case, like crusty current scones and double chocolate cupcakes. They always pack everything up in cute little paper bags!
